Autumnal Echoes: a #TankaTuesday #TankaProse (10/23/18)

blood moon

plague me not, you mirages

of a past long dead

I hold fast to the charm

of the present moment

The leaves remain. The barest hint of foliage slowly appears in a smattering of trees. Some blanket the yard as the days continue to shorten. But I fully expect a deluge of green leaves to fall.

All I need is the echo of Dad’s voice, unheard all these years, urging me to rake. All as the next Hunter’s Moon comes.

Why do we challenge nature

and her wilderness?

A magical season – even if the colors aren’t as bright this year. I find myself reflecting often as I walk the trails and paths…

I can feel the pain .. the longing in your words and clutched my heart at “Why do we challenge nature and her wilderness.” ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Hah, I can hear my dad’s voice imploring me to start raking, too. Love this snapshot!

Lovely memories of raking leaves and jumping into the pile. Inspiring poetry Frank. Nature will turn the wheels on us …as she has already begun so… we are now being challenged.
