Ultreya!

Hurricane Dorian struck the Bahamas as a Category five hurricane. At least twenty people die. The storm left an untold amount of wreckage and ruin in its wake. The storm then trekked northwest, where it made landfall on the United States’ Eastern seaboard in the Carolinas (not Alabama!).

The New York Metropolitan area felt the effects of Dorian’s outermost bands–even two-hundred miles from the eye of the storm! A series of showers, followed by dropped temperatures and passing winds, bore witness.

These varying winds continue.

Thus, our kigo for this week is windstorm (nowaki). Write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to windstorm (nowaki).

As always:

Hereโ€™s how the challenge works:

1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributorsโ€™ posts.

Bear up in the breezes, haijin!
