The cold and the dark press in. No matter. I find my root, cry out from the depths of my center, then let go. The searing light and incendiary heat of the arising Spirit ignite an ordinary despair into an extraordinary hope.
How could it be any other way?
even as
crickets and cicadas
sing their last
a quickening arises
beneath the soon frozen earth
