The Eastern Horizon brightens after six in the morning. The Western horizon dims by five in the afternoon. The days contract ever more, as November deepens.
Darkness grows.
Nonetheless, another year passes. Another Veterans Day, in which we honor those that served. Another St. Martin of Tours, in which we honor the one that laid down his sword for the Prince of Peace.
Another year around the sun.
While light fades this season, today’s bright side remains.

It would be super if you were a veteran on your special birthday, but regardless, happy birthday, and may there be 50 more awaiting. My birthday is Flag Day, and I share it with a punk named Trump (ugh).

I love the choice of verb: the days “contract”ing rather than only shortening. Also, I appreciate the reference to St. Martin of Tours today. 🙂

The peak of colors definitely brightens the dark days.
It was good to see and hear you last night. I hope you had a great birthday!
(My husband’s birthday is in February, and some years he had the long President’s weekend holiday off for his birthday.)

A perfect write for the time of year, with not a word out of place!

This is such a gorgeous, gorgeous write, Frank! Yes, darkness is growing as days go by and as November deepens. Here’s hoping we hold on to the light within.
Once again, happy birthday 🙂 hope you had a lovely one! Thank you for joining in the LIVE session 💝💝

Darkness is felt, and what a fantastic day to remember. A couple of years ago I was in France travelling home the day after Armistice day… the day after on November 13th there were the terror attacks in Paris…
