Bridging

She lifts her torch to me. I do not return the favor.

I’m too busy, stretching across the Bay. Bearing the Golden Gate from which they named me.

Offering a way in, a way out, a way across.

A way through.

There is always a way.

Nice! I feel like I’m back there, on the bridge, or on one side or the other, gawking at it. It’s real! It’s really there! That thing I only read about or saw on TV is tangible, palpable, distinct, compelling.

We often forget the roads underneath when we are busy crossing the bridge… a lot of things to think about from such a perspective

Bridges, a way to unite. A necessity to go to and fro and a necessity to connect kindred souls.

Terrifying. I know I should be awed, but it’s like planes. How does it stay up in the air?

The engineering that goes into the construction of such suspension bridges truly boggles my non-mathematical mind! ๐Ÿคฃ

It was a novel in verse “The Golden Gate” by Vikram Seth that inspired me to write poetry. So well said! Thanks for joining in, Frank.

This really invites one to go back and read again several times. It’s lovely without being frilly and provides much to ponder. Really enjoyed it.
