Ultreya!
It’s time for our first Full Moon prompt of the #Haikai Challenge revival. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac:
“January’s full Wolf Moon reaches peak illumination on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 12:54 P.M. EST.”
Old Farmer’s Almanac
One of the winter kigo is “Winter Moon” (fuyu no tsuki). However, since the US has a tradition of naming full moons, I opted to go with the traditional name of January’s full moon.
This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, tanka, kyoka, haibun, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to the Wolf Moon (Urufumūn).
As always:
1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.
Happy moon gazing, haijin!
