Your murmer carries on a whisper of a breeze. I stop to listen, and breathe.

Flow.

Yield, and be strong.

If I could only do what you say.

rainswelled brook …

the rocks upon which

I again get caught

I love the murmur of that brook. “rainswelled” as adjective is fantastic.

Wonderful, who doesn’t love the murmur of a quiet brook? It sounds so peaceful and yielding. Makes me feel like going fishing

The yield and be strong leads to that ‘if only’ response; filled with the truth of every day.

Indeed, Jilly! We so often want to believe that strength comes from our forcing.

I liked the line “If I could only do what you say.” which is a good response to some advice.

I normally see ‘murmur’ in a negative connotation, but it’s interesting how you and others with this prompt have turned it into something like a soothing voice of nature. Maybe if you’re completely unattached to the content and can just hear the audible sound, then I can see how murmurs can be like the flow of a brook.

This is a most wonderful sound in this… I feel the awe in presence of the rain-swelled one.

I, too, have experienced such serenity in the presence of a rain-swelled brook.

We wonโ€™t learn the ways of water, so we dash ourselves on those relational rocks.
