enduring fresh smoke from

burning verdant wood

Your face in firelight

as you retell your story

 

you familiar words, rising above the cackling flames and flying sparks

 

snowfall

the gentle grace by which

you balance fuel

    You give multi-tasking a good name! The retelling of the story around the fire runs deep in the human psyche and you’ve captured it beautifully. Love that the flames ‘cackle’ – a marvelous twist of words.

    retelling. Passing traditions on – the stories as old as time. I feel with tv and such many have obviously lost the gift and even the admiration for true story tellers. And for most of time, it has been done around a fire. And I also believe that our memories and abilities to recall have been damaged due to the lack of use – tv really is a vegetative state.
