Our Esoteric Toil: A #quadrille #haibun

She gathers dandelions for a new herbal tea. While I muddle words, photographs, and impressions to craft an epiphany among the ephemora.

The last robins and chicadees could care less. Their evening song carries on.

Love that second sentence, especially. And the gathering of dandelions leaves me longing, for some reason.

Wonderful sensory descriptions, Frank. Love the glimpse into a poet’s life. And, of course, the wrap-up.

I always seem to be muddling with words trying to find an epiphany.

Fine movement in this Frank – from the introspective internal start – through that link with the evening song – and out into the forest – and a woodpecker – ha. There’s mystery and perhaps enchantment here.

The haiku is a beautiful snapshot. It looks so familiar even if our dogwoods aren’t quite the same ๐Ÿ™‚

The dandelion has been used as a medicinal herb for centuries, with its roots and leaves dried and used to make dandelion tea. It’s rich in vitamins and minerals and contains more beta-carotene than carrots. Apparently it helps alleviate symptoms of many different ailments, including bloating, diabetes and liver dysfunction. Let’s hope it helps alleviate a muddle, too!
I love the phrase ‘craft an epiphany among the ephemora’ and the echo of the evening song in ‘The last robins and chicadees could care less’. I’m still waiting for our woodpecker to echo in the trees, frank!

Chuckling I am. I LOVE this! That struggling, waiting for an epiphany with pen in hand while my spouse goes about his day and the birds outside sing on. LOVE it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think this must be my favourite haibun ever. I love that the prose section is light and followed by an excellent haiku.

I like the three separate agendas of poeming, tea- making and the nonchalant attitude of the birds in song. This was wonderful, Frank.
