above the clouds
and city lights
mountain
a sunset defused
by gathered clouds
And we gathered by fading light. Watching the leaves turn at last. Hoping to make our last stand against the coming winter. What can we do but fall before the advancing cold and snow. Even our highest ground succumbs to ensnaring clouds that warp the light of the setting sun. How long before the snow that buries us falls?
enshadowed land
the illusion of light
from a blue sky
only a matter of time
before the last daylight fades
