Looking ahead:
Summer is officially here, according to the Gregorian calendar. The lead up to the solstice was a rain-fest here in New York. The upcoming forecast for the week calls for more. Attention, Seattle: we found your missing weather. you can have it back, now.
In the spirit of the summer, even with the rain, let our kigo of the week be midsummer rain (samidare). If we can’t beat it, let’s join it, then beat it! 🙂
This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to midsummer rain (samidare).
As always:
Here’s how the challenge works:
1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.
Stay dry if you can, haijin! And happy (official) Summer!
