Nihilistic Games: a solo #renga #quadrille

laying asphalt

a long and winding road

toward eruption

With all the lack of care

consumerists can muster

skyward plumes

subterranean ash falls

along our path

But what do we care when there’s

so much more to make our own

last lava flow

extinction

People plow and plunder forward Frank, with little concern for consequence.

Too true, Rob. And we will weep when we finally experience those consequences in full. Thanks!

No, we donโ€™t. Weโ€™re too busy consuming resources and calling that living.

The last lava flowing is hard to imagine…but we might be going there at the rate we are indifferent and not doing anything.

Indeed, Grace. And our utter apathy is our ultimate tragedy. Thanks!

My favorite stanza is the first. You really set the stage for the rest of the poem. Well done Frank!

The last lava to flow is a chilling thought. I like the formatting of this poem, Frank.
