Halloween …
Why would anyone need
to fear the dead?
Wait… did you hear that?
What was that thump in the dark? Who whispers that name?
Why is it suddenly so cold?
gathered clouds
what secrets emerge
from the tomb?
that I should shudder
seeing my own headstone
Paralyzed with fear. Heartbeat like the toning of a bell for All Saints’ Day. The apparition draws closer, closer…
darkness
Can what we exhume
survive the dawn?
What price we pay uncovering
buried secrets long forgotten
The phantasm fingers that graze my cheek. The tighness of my last breath…
the consequences
of such desecrations …

This sounds like a true nightmare… wonderful and eerie… I expect waking up in cold sweat in the end.
