bleeding wounds left untreated

  1. Oh gosh – that took my breath away. The stark use of language somehow manages to convey the absolute depravity of this violent act far more effectively than a barrage of effusive words ever could.

Another name to add to the statistics but a wrong time to happen. The pandemic complicates matters
A sad episode, Frank but well taken.

  3. I love the monochrome tone your sequence evokes, Frank, the contrast between the short and long lines, and especially the powerful image of the ‘chalk outline left behind’.

  4. Surprising take for an imagist poem but perfect for the time and a serious update. Such a canyon of historic wrong in those wounds, ruts we can’t get up out from. Can we read the news so closely? What did WC Williams say- “It is difficult / to get the news from poems/ yet men die miserably every day / for lack / of what is found there.” I didn’t post such to this challenge, but I am working on a Juneteenth poem.
