La Notte Scorsa

I dance with the blushing bride at the corner of the backyard. The Sturgeon Moon shines through the gap between old pines and gnarly maples.

It’s our last night at our old house. The movers come tomorrow.

It’s Quadrille Monday over at dVerse, and pubtender De Jacksons serves up Moon!

The pub is open! Come join us!

I enjoyed the shadow play here. A pensive one.

That sounds like a lovely last dance before you moved on.

So atmospheric, shadows and light in anticipation, and two intertwined in the moonlight — A glistening haibun, Frank.

Wow frank this is masterful! You really exercised the form to its limit here, and so beautifully.

Thanks, Kim. We actually moved on August 31st. However, It’s common practice to write Haibun in the present tense.

I do think that there will be a fresh relationship with the moon in the new place, but is it the same moon?

I LOVE how this captures the bitter sweetness of moving…dancing in the back yard. And a beautiful use of the word “moon” in this scene.
