Incandescent

A single match set the bonfire ablaze.

I can see your face, incandescent in the light of those flames. I long for your eyes to catch mine. I fear your eyes catching mine.

As if they would…

as the last

blossoms fall

waning moon

I like the flow of thoughts from longing for those eyes to meet, being fearful of the same and then… in comes the doubt. Such a natural progression that I could vividly picture in this scene.

I too like the flow of this piece.โ€‚These lines really spoke to me: “I long for your eyes to catch mine. I fear your eyes catching mine.”โ€‚Longing for something yet at the same time your fear that one thing you want.โ€‚

Very timely… tonight at Walpurgis there will be plenty of bonfires ablaze here in Sweden.

Your haibun-quadrille indeed incandescent, Frank, and so evocative of a face through a bonfire โ€“ and the heat of passion.
