And now…on to this week’s challenge!
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…” So goes the time-honored classic. The solstice has passed, and we now approach the heart of the holiday season. Your kigo for the week is Christmas. Write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that states, alludes to or references that familiar December 25th holiday.
Here’s how the challenge works:
- write the haikai poem of your choice.
- post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
- pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
- read and comment on other contributors’ posts.
Have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season. Happy belated Chanukah! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas, Frank. As it turns out, I just posted an odd Haibun that I will link up. Hope it’s not too irreverent; real life is rarely sacred.

I am sorry Frank. I posted two. I could not resist this wonderful prompt and sitting in the hospital does get a bit wearying. Poetry always helps!
