misty night

a hazy moon behind trees

the sole quality

a silent witness to this

passion emptying forth

Let my heart pour out like a libation, to rest only in you with the trust of a sleeping child!

mossy ground

this emptied tea cup the sign

of that old magic

the romantic kind growing

stronger and stronger each day

to Mira Tassone. All my love, Angel! Happy Valentin’s Day!!

  1. That’s a wonderful Valentine’s poem, Frank! I love the way you have separated the tanka with the beautiful long line, which makes its message stand out. I’m delighted that that romantic kind of magic still exists!
